I thought I read a stat line that the Ford GT’s would have won last year’s race ahead of the prototype class with how well they did this year. Is this accurate? I know they did well for themselves this year at the 24.

I believe that was the case, as I heard the same thing. Put it this way, I could get a non-blurry in frame shot of the P&M Vettes, but I couldn’t the GT’s. Not a very scientific example, but it’s what I’ve got. They were just ludicrously fast out of the corners.

Strictly from a laps stand point.

2017 P winner #10 WTR Car - 659 laps in 24:00.57

2018 GTLM winner #67 F-GT - 783 laps in 24:02.49

This doesn’t account for any FCY’s or Red Flags though. And off memory, last years race had a bunch of Y’s and one R. This year was notably light in Yellows.

Last year’s winning Cadillac only did 659 laps as a result of all the FCYs so yes every GTLM car would have beaten that record, including the #25 which did 731 laps.

Photos look great! Lots of variety. Wonder how open access some of the photographer pits were, though most of the media were shooting around the bus stop and the two horseshoes. Awesome seeing the miami blue GT and the evo super trofeo lambo!
